From Sun-Drenched Landscapes to Sustainable Style

Australian designer, Jen Moffat, is bringing a breath of fresh air to the Canadian inclusive fashion scene. Jen's vibrant personality and style are a direct reflection of the colourful flora, fauna and landscapes that surrounded her childhood.

Growing up, Jen loved but always felt ostracized by the fashion industry. The mainstream narrative that style was meant for a other body types than hers, left her yearning for clothes that reflected her vibrant personality and love of color.

After a move to Canada, Jen, a self-proclaimed maximalist, felt a pang for the vivid colours of her homeland.

These combined experiences sparked a mission: to create a clothing line that celebrates the curves and solve the challenges of the modern individual. Her new label is more than just fashion brand; it's a rebellion against the outdated notion that style has a size restriction.

Waratah Avenue is a luxury brand for confident clientele who want to rewrite the fashion rule book. Compassionate, sustainable, inclusive.

Made in Toronto.

Sustainable

Based in Toronto, at Waratah Avenue we believe in the magic of transformation.

Embracing the stories woven into donated and unused textiles, we work to extend their lifespan to create a truly unique, slow fashion experience for our community. Our upcycling process is a labour of love, from long road trips spent thrifting and collecting textiles to the washing and cataloguing of them, we give each piece love and attention and design from the textiles themselves. The history and design of these pieces create a wellspring of ideas and inspiration for our team. As we work on unpicking old hems and seams we imagine the original creators of these textiles and are reminded of our responsibility to use them in meaningful and sustainable ways. It’s a real pleasure.

Waratah Avenue offers a unique shopping experience for those seeking sustainable clothing options. Our garments celebrate self-expression through a love for all kinds of bodies and beautiful, well-loved textiles turned into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Inclusive

Waratah Avenue embraces body neutrality and celebrates self-expression through our inclusive sizing. We believe exquisite fashion should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their physique. That's why our clothes are designed to engage with a wide range of shapes and sizes. We are working to create garments that have flexible sizing stitched into them through some clever construction. Our bodies change size throughout the day and our clothes should be able to move through the day comfortably with us.

By combining our sustainable practices with an inclusive sizing philosophy, Waratah Avenue fosters a culture of acceptance, self-love, and freedom from fashion's limitations. We want our customers to look amazing and feel even better in clothes that are made with love for our community and with grace for our precious planet.
